The main purpose of using data mining tools is to find meaningful patterns and relevant correlations in large amounts of data (those can be for instance legacy systems, data warehouses or data marts).
Data mining is mainly used in such areas as science, marketing, surveillance and financial fraud detection.
The data mining process usually involves the following tasks: clustering, classification, regression, rules learning.
